Transitions

I only have 5 more weeks until this baby should arrive!!! Let me tell you all, I'm not a happy mommy right now. I'm very irritable and extremely impatient with my kiddos. I'm trying really hard to be a happy, positive mom but it's hard. Don't get me wrong, I have my good days too. But, the bad days seem to be a little more often these past couple weeks. I'm just so uncomfortable, it's ridiculous. Well, enough complaining...In preperation for our little man to come into this world (!!!) we needed to get Samantha and Parker comfortable in their new night time surroundings. Meaning, new beds! Sam has been in a toddler bed since she was 2, and Parker has been in his crib. Well, this past week we decided we needed to move everyone up and put them in new beds so we could have our crib ready for the baby. We bought Sam a new twin size bed and gave Parker the toddler bed. I have to admit, I was terrified to put Parker in that bed! He's such a busy boy and so crazy, I thought it would be impossible. Luckily, I had a back-up plan just in case. My good friend, who isn't using her crib anymore offered hers to us if Parker refused the bed. Samantha was a sinch to get into it, but they are SOOO different!

Anyways, we started with Samantha and she totally shocked me. She cried for probably an hour and a half! She just kept saying that she missed her bed and that her new bed was too high! What a girl! I really didn't think it would be an issue. So, we had to lay with her and tell her all the good things about having a bigger bed. That only lasted the first night and now she's great with it. Now for Parker...The first night was a struggle as well. It took us 2 hours to get him to sleep! We tried laying with him, we let him cry, we layed with him again. Finally, Jeremy was able to lay with him and get him to fall asleep in his bed. Now, imagine Jeremy laying in a toddler bed! Pretty funny! He did it though. He was determined. So, lucky us, he slept the whole night and didn't get out of bed! Yay! Since then he's been great! We've been able to get him to take his naps and he even went to bed for Grandma Klein last night! Jer and I thought for sure we'd get home from our night out and have Parker wide awake from resisting bed time. But, not the case. Thanks Grandma Klein!

So, mission accomplished. Everyone is comfy in their new beds. Now we just need to put the baby's room together (paint, furniture...) and we'll be ready! We have everything, it's just a matter of doing it. Yeah, we procrastinate a bit. I guess when it's your 3rd, you have that "been there, done that" frame of mind. But, we're so excited! Just get here already!!!

Baby Update...

I was sitting here on the computer and started feeling the baby move. He moves pretty much all the time. Anyways, I also started having a contraction (which isn't a rare occurance either) and thought I'd update you all on how things are going in my pregnancy world...Well, as you all know, I've had issues with kidney stones. Well, as a result of my last episode of them I've started having some pretty significant contractions. It all started the morning the stones started acting up and hasn't really stopped. That is one reason I was in the hospital for so long this last time. They just kept wanting to monitor me and my contractions. Anyways, I've been having them so much that I was put on some medication that stops them. I actually have only taken it a couple times though because it makes me feel like I'm going to explode! It makes me sooo jittery and my heart races a mile a minute. It's just too much. I hate it. So, I just deal with it or sit down and rest and that helps. My doctor also had me come in and do a stress test a couple days ago, on monday. I haven't heard back, so I'm guessing things went well. The nurse that did it though said that I was contracting and it was more than they should be seeing at 32 weeks. She said she may want me to come in every week and do them. We'll see. All I know is that I can't wait for this to be over! I don't remember feeling this way with the other two kids. This pregnancy is making me rethink a 4th one, like we had always planned on having. And to make me rethink this more is the fact that my urologist (the kidney stone doc) told me when I had my follow-up that the stones I have are "pregnancy stones". They tested mine and they were made of things that are different than a non-pregnant woman's. There are a variety of them...Anyways, I'm a little worried of having them again while prego. But, on the other hand, it's a small price to pay for a child. So, that's the low-down. Only about 7 weeks left!!! I'm hoping a little less. But, not too many less.

Getting OH SO BIG!

Yes, I am getting HUGE! I'm now 27 weeks, today. I'm feeling like I should be somewhere in my 30's though, with how large I am! I'm not just feeling big in the tummy, but everywhere. It's starting to show in my whole body, fat that is. I guess that's just how it goes though! Well, this picture was actually taken yesterday on my way out to go see and listen to our General Relief Society President, Sister Beck. She was speaking in Seattle, just about a 20 minute drive, at a stake center downtown. It was awesome!!! I'm so glad I went. She was so inspirational for us LDS women. She helped me realize things about myself and helped me put myself in check. She has so much LOVE for us and it shows. She spoke for almost 2 hours! It was wonderful! My favorite part was her talking about mothers. She related to us mothers in the scriptures and what an example they are to us. She talked about having children and how if we CAN have kids we should. Sister Beck said it is our job, if possible, is to have children and it's the job of those who cannot, for whatever reason, to be there to help and support us. I never thought of it that way. She also spoke about women that she's met throughout the world and what their "stories" were in life. Everyone has a story. It was fun to hear others' stories. She also wanted us to feel special again, like we did when we were 3 years old, comparing us to her little 3 year old granddaughters. As we grow older we seem to lose that feeling of being special, like a little girl feels. She spoke on many other things, I could go on and on. It was fun to get to know her. Meeting in a more intimate setting made it easier to do that. She spoke to us as if she'd known us forever. She talked about her family and even had her husband bear his testimony to us. It was a wonderful evening followed by some yummy dinner with some friends. What a night!

And the baby is a...

We went for our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and we found out the baby is a boy!!! It was really no surprise to me. I've been thinking is was a boy from the very beginning. Anyway, everything is great. Baby looks good and healthy. I've been feeling really good too. I haven't been sick at all, except for a few weeks in the beginning. I never threw up, just felt icky, but food usually helped. That's probably why I started gaining weight so quickly! I'm not as tired as I was the first trimester, which is great. I hate being exhausted all the time and having kids to deal with and all the other everyday things. Samantha was a little bummed about the whole "boy" thing happening again. She was all about having a little sister. Oh well. I just reminded her of one of her best little friends, Megan, who has two little brothers, just like she'll have. That made it better. So, we are very excited to have another little boy in the house! Parker has been such a snugly little guy, so I hope our next is so lovable too! I hope he's not as cranky as Parker though, in the beginning. We'll see! I hope April comes QUICKLY!!!

Here's my belly at 20 weeks, 5 days. I couldn't decide which one was a better picture, so I posted both :) Really, I just hate pictures of myself when I'm pregnant. So, neither is great...at all.
