Holy Tabasco Sauce!

For the lack of having anything better to blog about I thought I'd share my wierd mishap that occured as I was making dinner tonight.  Well, I decided to make cornbread muffins to eat along with chili, so I needed to grab the liners for them.  I opened the cupboard and as I did I had a bottle of tabasco sauce fall out and break open on the counter.  Not so bad, except for the fact that it splattered all over my face and a big drop went right in my eye!  I've never had hot sauce in my eye or face before and let me tell you , I doesn't feel so good.  I instantly felt my face and eyeball burning up.  It really hurt!  It was like my whole face and eye was on fire.  I had Sam go get Jeremy while I tried to flush my eye with water and wash my face off.  No matter how much water I used, it still hurt...I had Jeremy get my contact lens case and I got my lens out and kept throwing water in my face and eye.  I finally stopped and continued with dinner, but the burning lasted for a good half hour or so. It's not really that interesting of a story...it's just so random!  Who gets a bottle of tabasco sauce splattered in their face?

Getting OH SO BIG!

Yes, I am getting HUGE! I'm now 27 weeks, today. I'm feeling like I should be somewhere in my 30's though, with how large I am! I'm not just feeling big in the tummy, but everywhere. It's starting to show in my whole body, fat that is. I guess that's just how it goes though! Well, this picture was actually taken yesterday on my way out to go see and listen to our General Relief Society President, Sister Beck. She was speaking in Seattle, just about a 20 minute drive, at a stake center downtown. It was awesome!!! I'm so glad I went. She was so inspirational for us LDS women. She helped me realize things about myself and helped me put myself in check. She has so much LOVE for us and it shows. She spoke for almost 2 hours! It was wonderful! My favorite part was her talking about mothers. She related to us mothers in the scriptures and what an example they are to us. She talked about having children and how if we CAN have kids we should. Sister Beck said it is our job, if possible, is to have children and it's the job of those who cannot, for whatever reason, to be there to help and support us. I never thought of it that way. She also spoke about women that she's met throughout the world and what their "stories" were in life. Everyone has a story. It was fun to hear others' stories. She also wanted us to feel special again, like we did when we were 3 years old, comparing us to her little 3 year old granddaughters. As we grow older we seem to lose that feeling of being special, like a little girl feels. She spoke on many other things, I could go on and on. It was fun to get to know her. Meeting in a more intimate setting made it easier to do that. She spoke to us as if she'd known us forever. She talked about her family and even had her husband bear his testimony to us. It was a wonderful evening followed by some yummy dinner with some friends. What a night!

She just wanted to try out some new things with her pictures and post a few. The kids cooperated pretty well. Not a lot of smiles though. I think it had something to do with the weather! My New Favorite Room

We've been doing some rearranging (again!) in our house to try to get ready for the new arrival that will be coming in a few months. We decided because Parker isn't a great sleeper, that it would be too difficult to have Samantha and him share a room at this point. So, to make room for baby #3 Jer and I moved downstairs and now all the kids have their own rooms. With all the moving, we now have an official playroom, which is now my favorite room in the house! We have SOOO many toys and I never realized, until today, that because there is so many, I tend to tuck them away or everything is just piled up and the kids could never fully enjoy the toys. I guess when it's cluttered up and unorganized and you can't find what you want it's hard to play. It makes sense. But, this weekend Jeremy went out and bought a fantastic solution. It doesn't seem like much, but shelving and a little organization can really do the trick. He bought a really great shelving unit with a bunch of bins and cubbies. I spent hours going through everything and sorting things and now it's completely organized and I'm really enjoying it. The kids, for the first time in a long time actually spent almost the whole day playing with their toys. They played with toys that they hadn't played with in ages. It was great! And with me being somewhat of a freak about clutter and organization, it makes me feel good to know that everything has a place now. That is until we collect more and I have to figure out where to put those...

What A Mess...And Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!! This has been one very memorable New Years for us, that's for sure! It actually all started on Monday night...Parker woke up around 10 p.m. throwing up. He continued to do so until 1:30 a.m. He ended up vomiting 9 times! I didn't know a 1 1/2 yr. old could do that! Well, last night Jeremy and I had big plans to go out on the town for New Year's Eve. No, we just were going out to dinner and movie. Pretty exciting! Jeremy had been feeling a little sick all day, but said he could still go, no problem. Around 4:00 p.m. he decided he couldn't. It starting hitting him really hard. So, he was down for the night, totally miserable. We were both bummed that our night out wasn't going to happen, but oh well. So, around 8:00, as I was getting the kids to bed, Parker starting up again and threw up in the kitchen. I cleaned it up and hoped for the best. Well, the best was far from it...it would only get worse. As I laid Parker down for the night, he was really cranky, so I was holding him next to his crib, trying to calm him when it happened...he threw up all over me!!!! It was down my shirt, down my arm, in my hair, and a huge mess on the floor. GROSS!!! I can't tell you how many times I almost lost it and joined in. It was horrible! Unfortunately, Jer was passed out and totally sick himself, so guess who had to deal with this all by herself? Yeah. I ended up getting Samantha up (she hadn't fallen asleep yet) to help me. She tried to entertain as I cleaned. In the end, I finally got Parker back to bed around 10:30. I let him stay up because I was worried he'd do it again. I then showered and finally around 11:15 started my fun New Year's Eve by myself. I sat down with some yummy Pringles and vegged. Just when I thought I was clear of cleaning up puke, Sam started! I heard the pitter-patter of footsteps upstairs, so I went up to check it out and there she was, crying with vomit all over her. So, there I went again. I had to clean her up, then the floor. Finally, all was well. I only had to get up 3 times in the middle of the night to help Samantha throw up. Luckily, Parker slept through the nigh. Today has been better. Sam threw up once and Parker, not at all. Everyone's been really lazy and sick still though. Not fun. So, that was our awesome New Year's Eve and our New Year's Day was almost just as exciting. I hope everyone has had better days than us! Happy New Year, again! Goodbye 2008!

Christmas Day

Our winter wonderland! This is what we got to look at while opening presents by our tree. So pretty!

Our Christmas Day turned out a little different than planned, but still was wonderful. We woke up early to open our presents that Santa had brought us. Jeremy and I lacked in the gift department this year for eachother. With all the craziness of my kidney stone issues, neither of us ever made it out shopping to get eachother anything! Jer got some baseball cards from a friend who owns a local card shop, but that was all at our house. We plan on getting out soon to get eachother our gifts. Anyway, the kids had a blast opening all of their gifts. Neither of them got a "big" gift but lots of smaller ones were great!

After we opened gifts we got ready to head to Grandpa and Grandma Klein's house. Of course, they went all out like always. The kids had tons to open and loved every minute of it. Us big kids had fun too, getting lots of great things. Thanks for everything!!!

After a while at their house, we were supposed to head out to my dad's house, but it had been snowing so hard all morning, by the time it was time to go it was pretty bad out on the roads. And to top it off, we lost a chain somewhere along the way. We actually found it later, by Jer's parent's house, but didn't know it at the time. SO, we ended up just going home. Sad, but it was a beautiful white christmas!!!

That night we were also supposed to have my mom and her husband, Stephen, over for dinner, but again, because of the snow they couldn't come. I had a nice meal planned with lots of food, but I decided that we had to have a Christmas dinner regardless, so I made it anyway and it was delicious!

The day was a little different, being at home most of the day. Usually we're off with family all day long, but the snow was coming down pretty good and we decided to just take it easy at home. It was nice to have that time though. The kids actually got to play with all their toys instead of waiting around until night or the next day. We ended up making a trip out to Jer's Grandma's house eventually a couple days later where the kids got lots more gifts. We also made it to my mom's and dad's house eventually. Our kids sure are spoiled! It's great to have so much family around though.
